Fracking revolution has improved lives, environment

Here’s some welcome good news: A second tanker ship full of liquefied natural gas (LNG) has left for Europe. It’s a new market and a new era for U.S. natural gas producers. It’s a plus for the economy and it’s a plus for the environment, as LNG replaces much dirtier coal for electrical production.
It’s a shame that Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton opposes the fracking revolution that brought us to this point.
“A new cargo of US LNG is headed for southwestern Europe, only the second cargo to target the European market since US LNG exports began at the end of February,” reports the S&P Global Platts news agency. “The Sestao Knutsen LNG tanker left the Sabine Pass liquefaction facility on Monday and is set to arrive at Spain’s Mugardos LNG import terminal at the port of Ferrol on July 22 or earlier.”
It’s the second shipment of many to come.
“U.S. LNG pioneer Cheniere said late last year it expected as much as 50 percent of its LNG to end up in Europe,” the news agency adds. “By 2020, it is expected that the US can export as much as 100 Bcm/year of LNG - enough to supply a quarter of the EU market.”
